Designer Karyl Pierce Paxton's Home

After Hurricane Katrina, former interior designer (she is a lighting and product designer now) Karyl Pierce Paxton renovated her Queen Anne cottage in New Orleans completely. The twig and leaves floor lamp was made by Paul Gruer. Even in the kitchen there is a touch of drama with full length draperies.<br /></p><p><img id="fb_image" src="http://www.housebeautiful.com/cm/housebeautiful/images/a4/13-frenchlasts-guestroom-0108-xlg.jpg" style="top: -55px; left: 44px; width: 497px; height: 635px;" /></p><p>Paxton decorated her ultra-feminine guest room to feel like a bed-and-breakfast in the south of France. To keep a rustic feeling, Paxton used salvaged cypress floorboards from a barn and left quarter-inch gaps between boards.<br /></p><p><img id="fb_image" src="http://www.housebeautiful.com/cm/housebeautiful/images/9S/14-frenchlasts-bath-0108-xlg.jpg" style="top: -55px; left: 44px; width: 498px; height: 636px;" /></p><p>Double French doors in the master bathroom open to the courtyard, screened by a ten-foot cedar fence. Summer House in Malaga

Mine was fine, full of sunshine and figuring out some math exercises with my son which we finally solved. It's always such a nice feeling to be able to solve math problems.<br /><br /></span></span><span id="result_box" class="medium_text"><span style="background-color: rgb(235, 239, 249);" title="">Surrounded by olive groves and radiant interiors, this spacious 18 century restored farmhouse is located near Archidona in Malaga.</span></span>,<span id="result_box" class="medium_text"><span style="background-color: rgb(235, 239, 249);" title="">I would call this home a happy house. All the splashes of bright colours make me want to run around an play all day. Anyway, that's what bright colours do to me. </span></span>Most of the furniture has modern, simple lines. Lots of baskets, lanterns and colourful rugs and pillows. Photographer Victoria Pearson's Home

Today we are touring photographer and designer Victoria Pearson's home. She specializes in decorating, food, fashion and beauty. Located in the city of Ojai, California, she wanted her house to be a visual break from her work so she used only pastels, soft greens and whites and decorated it sparsely.<br /><br /><img id="fb_image" src="http://www.housebeautiful.com/cm/housebeautiful/images/1-purity-entry-0808-xlg.jpg" style="top: -55px; left: 44px; width: 450px; height: 575px;" /><br />In the entry, a Pearson photograph hangs above a still life of whites and naturals. Summer House on Formentera

Good Saturday morning dear readers. How about visiting a lovely summer house today? It is located on a small sunny island called Formentera. It is the smallest and southernmost island of the Illes Pitiüses group and belongs to the Balearic Islands. It is approximately 6 km south of Ibiza in the Mediterranean Sea.<br /><br />It used to be a worn down stable and Architects Nacho Alonso y Bill Wright were in charge of the restoration taking care to preserve most of the original building.<br /><br /><img name="foto" src="http://www.micasarevista.com/casas/campo/campo29/campo29_1g.jpg" style="width: 651px; height: 813px;" /><br />Items purchased by the owners on their trips to Bali, Marruecos and Sumatra adorn the terrace.<br /><br /><img name="foto" src="http://www.micasarevista.com/casas/campo/campo29/campo29_2g.jpg" /><br /><br /><img name="foto" src="http://www.micasarevista.com/casas/campo/campo29/campo29_3g.jpg" style="width: 650px; height: 520px;" /><br />The sand coloured shades here are a replica of the ones used by the military during missions in the Sahara desert.<br /><br /><img name="foto" src="http://www.micasarevista.com/casas/campo/campo29/campo29_4g.jpg" /><br /><br /><img name="foto" src="http://www.micasarevista.com/casas/campo/campo29/campo29_5g.jpg" style="width: 650px; height: 520px;" /><br />Natural elements such as a teak settee, a wall sculpture made with branches and stone floor make up this sitting area. The large window brings the outside in.<br /><br /><img name="foto" src="http://www.micasarevista.com/casas/campo/campo29/campo29_6g.jpg" style="width: 650px; height: 520px;" /><br />Concrete counter in this rustic kitchen. The small window, original to the house was kept. The original beams here and in other rooms have been restored.<br /><br /><img name="foto" src="http://www.micasarevista.com/casas/campo/campo29/campo29_7g.jpg" style="width: 651px; height: 521px;" /><br /><br /><img name="foto" src="http://www.micasarevista.com/casas/campo/campo29/campo29_9g.jpg" style="width: 651px; height: 521px;" /><br />Touches of colour on a white background in the light filled master bedroom. More storage room at the top in wicker baskets.
